A deficiency in any of the body’s essential amino acids means a serious deficiency and loss ot the body’s ability to efficiently produce end process proteins to build and repair muscle and connective tissue. Our pets, like humans, produce about 10 of the 20 or so essential amino acids needed for the proper body function; the rest must be supplied by the food that is eaten. Many amino acids we found in commercial pet foods, but many pet foods are deficient in the most essential amino acids, resulting in a need to supplement the missing amino acids with a quality dietary supplement like Amino Plex. Unlike fat or starches, amino acids are not in the body for later use and must be replenished daily through the food taken in.
